After the coup in February 2021, the lack of teaching and learning materials in Karenni State is a major obstacle for schools to improving the quality of education. This lack of resources is also detrimental to the motivation of teachers. It is very difficult for teachers to find their own materials, and they may not always know what the best practices are for teaching a certain subject.
Objective:
The objective of this program is to provide children with the necessary tools to participate in education and improve the quality of education.
Issues:
Teacher stipends are a financial incentive that teachers receive for meeting their certain basic needs especially in this difficult time. Teachers in community schools got very low stipends and have to be rely on irregular donations and community supports.
Due to the irregular stipends, there is high teachers retention rates in community schools in Karenni State.
Objective:
The primary goal of teacher stipends is to provide teachers with a source of income that will allow them to meet their basic needs to help improve the quality of teaching and student performance by increasing teacher motivation and retention rates.
Issue:
There are many challenges in education in conflict zones. One of the biggest challenges is the quality of data. Poor data quality and data management can lead to inaccurate conclusions and suboptimal decision-making. Furthermore, data is necessary for effective school monitoring and teacher coaching.
Objective:
To get the quality data and go for school monitoring.
The conflict zone contained several schools that were staffed by CDM teachers and volunteer teachers, who come from a variety of professional backgrounds. It is important all teachers are equipped with the necessary skills to educate the children. 
Many parents in rural Karenni have limited education qualifications and limited access to educational resources. Parent education plays a crucial role in ensuring the overall well-being and development of children. By equipping parents with the necessary knowledge and skills, it empowers them to provide a nurturing and supportive environment for their children.
Parent education program aims to address the challenges that parents face in supporting their children’s education. The program’s objectives are to:
- Increase parents’ awareness of the importance of education and their role in their children’s learning.
- Provide parents with the skills and knowledge they need to support their children’s learning at home.
- Promote communication and cooperation between parents and schools.
- Empower parents to advocate for their children’s education.
The school construction program aims to address the challenges that children face in accessing education. Many schools in the Karenni State especially in Maw Chi area are in poor condition. Some schools are overcrowded, while others lack basic facilities such as toilets and clean water.
School construction is crucial for ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed in school, overcome the challenges that children face accessing education, and provide them with the learning and growth environment they need.
