In 2021, the military staged a coup against the democratically elected president of Myanmar and this led to a dramatic increase in violence against minority groups in Myanmar. The burmese military forces have committed atrocities like murder, including children, and rape against innocent civilians.
Due to the conflicts between Karenni resistance groups and military forces in Karenni State, more than 200,000 displaced people have to be displaced accordding to the Karenni Civil Society Network reports.
Many of the IDPs are unable to access food, water and shelter because of military operations that have been going on since 2021. Humanitarian Assistance becomes a need to be done in Karenni State.
